Christmas Holiday Activities for Kids at Home: A Day-by-Day Plan from 23 December to Three Kings Day
The Christmas holidays are long and lovely – and somewhere between the presents and the leftovers, many families hear the familiar words: “I’m bored!” A small stack of printable activities helps: something to make before Christmas, something quiet for the days after, and a little celebration for Three Kings Day on 6 January. Here are Christmas holiday activities for kids aged 3–7, ideas by age and a simple day-by-day plan.
What’s in the Holidays at Home Bundle?
The Holidays at Home Bundle has 3 printable books with 71 A4 pages for children aged 3–7. My Christmas Activity Book has 32 pages of colouring pages, mazes, dot-to-dots, counting, spot the difference and word searches. My Christmas Cards & Decorations has 12 cards to colour and fold, 24 gift tags, 12 round tree ornaments and a paper garland. The Three Kings Day Activity Pack has 6 colouring pages, 2 paper crowns, a star maze and 2 special pages from its country’s tradition. There is no English edition: the bundle comes in Spanish, Italian, French and German – a lovely fit for bilingual families and children learning one of these languages. Need English pages? My Christmas Activity Book (A4 and US Letter) and My Christmas Cards & Decorations are also sold separately in English. Want to try it first? Download the free cards & decorations sample.

Holiday activities for ages 3–5
- Colour a card for grandma: each card has the greeting in big hollow letters – colour, fold and give.
- Decorate the tree: the 12 round ornaments are easy to colour; an adult helps with cutting and a ribbon.
- Count to 20: the counting pages make a gentle number game for a lazy morning.
- Wear a crown: colour a paper crown, glue the strip to fit the head and be king or queen for a day.
Holiday puzzles and crafts for ages 5–7
- Label the presents: children write names on the 24 gift tags – real writing practice with a purpose.
- Puzzle mornings: mazes, dot-to-dots, colour by number, shadow matching and two word searches.
- Make a garland: colour the paper garland with the greeting and hang it across the window.
- Join the tradition: write to the Reyes Magos or to la Befana, play the galette slices game, or hang the German door blessing sign.

A day-by-day plan from 23 December to 6 January
- 23 December: colour Christmas cards for the family and the neighbours.
- 24 December: gift tags on the presents, ornaments on the tree and the garland in the window.
- 25–26 December: a quiet day with the colouring pages from the activity book and “My Christmas wish”.
- 27–30 December: one puzzle each morning – a maze, a dot-to-dot, spot the difference or a word search.
- 31 December – 1 January: colour by number and counting pages for the slow days around New Year.
- 2–4 January: start the Three Kings Day pack: the colouring pages and the star maze, where the kings follow the star to the stable.
- 5 January: make the two crowns. In Spain, the cabalgata – the Three Kings parade – passes through towns in the evening and children put out their shoes before bed; in Italy, the stocking goes up for la Befana.
- 6 January: crowns on! Play the roscón or galette slices game, see what la Befana left in the stockings, or put up the door sign 20*C+M+B*27 with the Sternsinger star.
Tips for happy holidays at home
Print in stages. The bundle comes as 3 separate PDF files – print the cards first and the crowns in January. Use thicker paper for the crowns. 160–200 g/m² paper keeps a crown standing; ordinary paper is fine for colouring. Prepare the cutting. Small cut-out parts are not suitable for children under 3, so cut the tags and ornaments in advance for the youngest. Keep a holiday box. Crayons, scissors, glue and the printed pages in one place make it easy to start. Learn a language. The bundle in Spanish, Italian, French or German brings new words to the table.
